Two musicians from PFDJ’s Aser Band currently touring Europe abandon the regime to seek asylum in Sweden.

Two of the musicians and members of Aser Band currently touring Europe have abandoned the so-called Biddho Tour to seek asylum in Sweden. The organist Abdelrehim Abdela and one of the guitarists, Tedros Weldemichael, have discontinued their associations with the propaganda machine Aser Band, thus also the regime, according to our contacts in Sweden. This occurred after they had performed in Stockholm on the eve of New Year, 31st of December.
Furthermore, Aser Band’s planned concert performance in London, January 7th 2012, was cancelled because Aser Band lost its key musicians and because the Englishgovernment refused to grant entry visa to Aser Band.
This is nothing new. Eritreans of all walks of life, professionals and public personalities have been abandoning their country and immigrating to other countries since 2001. The failed economic, social and political policies of the totalitarian PFDJ regime are the sole cause of Eritrea’s production of thousands of refugees and asylum seekers forcefully chased away from their dear country.
